My visit to Hong Kong! + Macau!

Hi, and welcome back to my blog! I am sincerely sorry about not posting this any earlier, its just that I was lazy and therefore, couldn't be stuffed to write about my whole trip to Hong Kong--oh, and Macau! Well here is my post about Hong Kong, the biggest and breathtaking article that you have all been anticipating...! Lets get on with it, shall we?

So, I woke up at 5:00AM on the Sixteenth of January, Two-thousand-and-twelve. Yeah, I'm sorry, I won't make it that detailed! Anyways, the plane departs at 7:45 and the freaking plane wants us to arrive at the airport super duper early, which is fumingly ridiculous! Anyways, I did all the necessary things that I always do when I wake up and went to the Adelaide International Airport. We went through all the strict processes that all airports do, and in the end we were at the Hong Kong gate at 7:00. And blah, blah, blah, blah. We went in the plane and I suffered with major headaches. Oh yeah, I also hate airplane food which tastes like BEEP!

7 hours later, my family and myself arrived at Hong Kong! YAY! So we stayed at Mong Kok and went to our hotel--which was the crappest hotel I have ever lived in, in my entire life! Anyways, we walked non-stop and went shopping. A lot. And now I will show you these wonderful pictures to save you time from reading this long, long, long, long post. There will still be writing at the bottom. Sorry.

Now heres something new... Have you ever been to a giant shopping mall, with giant macrons...

and giant cupcakes? Not to mention a giant chocolate fountain with real life Hong Kong celebrities that were crowded by billions of cameras? No, you probably haven't. Well I have. I couldn't take the picture of the giant chocolate fountain because it was too blurry every time I tried to take it because of everyone pushing in to just see these celebrities whom I did not know.

Oh yeah, have you been to a whole level of only sweets and candies in a shopping mall?

And more and more?

Which just gets longer and longer, the more you walk?

If you go up higher and higher or lower and lower, you might see one of these stores that are also in Adelaide...

Macau, the asian country that looks a lot like Venice? I took a ship from Hong Kong to get to Macau! Yeah! I went overseas in one hour from overseas!

Now heres the thing... Have you ever been to a Casino + Hotel that has a shopping mall inside it? Wait, that's not it... A shopping mall that has Italy inside it? The picture above is a shopping mall.

Yep, That's the shopping mall alright~ Too bad we got lost in it. It was like a maze, literally... This shopping mall is sooo big. Oh yeah, and the sky... It isn't real. Its the mall's ceiling painted like the sky. REALLY REALISTIC.

Macau, over one thousand casinos/hotels. We've only been in one of them... Can't imagine to go to them all!

Welcome back to my humble blog! As you know, I am going to Hong Kong tomorrow, therefore I won't be able to blog for a while until I come back. I will be staying there for ten days, so please expect to see my post about Hong Kong in eleven or twelve days time. And don't you worry, because I will be taking millions and millions of photos during my trip and you will get to see them all exclusively on this blog! :)

Instant Cameras!

Welcome back to my blog, readers! In this article, I'm going to talk about instant film cameras. First of all, what is actually an instant camera? Well basically, it's a camera that generates a developed film independently by its built in "printer". These cameras use self-developing films which were originally originated by the Polaroid Corporation. You have probably heard of the brand Polaroid, as they were the first company to make these handy instant cameras. In this post, I'm going to base this article on my Polaroid 300.

The Polaroid 300 does an excellent job in reminding us on the joys of nostalgic instant photography. The good thing about these instant cameras is that, you don't need to go and get your film developed because it pops up instantly from your camera! However, the con is that you must supply the film for the camera, in order to develop photos. These films cost an average range of AU$19.95 for a packet of 10 film inside. Pricey! So this means that you would probably have to choose very wisely upon taking your pictures as you only get ten shots at it! One click of a button equals, one film popping up like a fresh toast! There are absolutely no options to look at the photo you took and there are also no cancelling your prints when you click the button! I strongly advise that if you are wanting to buy one of these instant cameras, you should think very wisely what you want to take!

The body of the Polaroid 300 is smaller than the older versions making it far more portable and convenient to use. They are available in three colours: black, blue and red. The Polaroid contains flash and has four scene settings that ranges from indoor to fine. The camera is very straightforward and easy to use. Once you take it out of the box, I guarantee you will instantly learn how to use it very quickly.

As I said before, these films come in a packet of 10 films. They cost an average of AU$19.95 in the shops, however, I strongly recommend you to buy these online. Why? Because they are far more cheaper! I am currently using the Fujifilm Instax Mini for the films. You can also use the Polaroid 300 films too but I am pretty sure that they are more expensive than the Fujifilm. The Fujifilm Instax Mini Films are actually made for their own instant film camera but it also works on the Polaroid 300. There are no differences between the Polaroid and the Fujifilm; their film are both the size of a credit card with the same picture quality.

So if you are wanting to buy an instant camera, I recommend the Polaroid 300 or the Fujifilm Instax Mini. These two cameras both use the same film and are pretty much identical but they do have their differences. For more information on these two cameras, just Google them and you can see some reviews that compare between the two!

The Polaroid 300 costs about an average price of AU$149, but you can find them for a cheaper price in Australia in some shops having sales. The Fujifilm Instax Mini 7 (white) costs AU$85 according to Officeworks making it extremely cheaper than the Polaroid 300. In my opinion, the Polaroid cameras prices are very dear due to their popular brand.

Now take your time in having a look at some of the films that I have took from the Polaroid 300. These films are now attached to my sister's cork board. So I hope you enjoy these photos that I took and I also hope that this article helped you in deciding on which instant camera to get!

epic life of ken is back!

Greetings Readers,
I am sincerely sorry about the two week break of no blogging due to having my laziness coming back. But do not fear, Ken is back! (Not like you people missed me or anything...) I'd like to take the chance to say thanks for reading my blog, I appreciate it and uh--a late Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! :) During these holidays, I have done nothing but stay in my house... yes, I am very unsocial, sorry. But now I decided to get outside and I don't know... do something practical, like taking photos! As some people should know, I am leaving Australia on the 16th of January 2012 to go to Hong Kong! I will be coming back on the 29th or 30th of January. I'll make sure to snap heaps of photos when I get there and bring back some souvenirs.

In these past few weeks of my boring holiday, I found an application from the Apple Store called Instagram! It's an app where you can take or upload photos onto their cool photo sharing atmosphere!
If you don't really understand what this app is all about... You can basically:

view photos from the people you follow
like, unlike, and comment, uncomment photos
follow and unfollow users
see your followers and following
browse popular photos / tags / users
and many stunning features!

You can get this app on the iPhone, iPod Touch and the iPad. So... if you own one of these devices, DOWNLOAD this application! You can take heaps of random pictures and who knows? Someone may "like" it.

These wands were from the Australian Sunday Mail where you get a wand coupon from the newspaper, from there, you exchange the coupon with two dollars at a news agency to receive a wand! I got all three of them. These wands belong to Harry Potter, Dumbledore and Lord Voldemort. They are not made out of wood/bone, but plastic. They have this shiny look that makes the plastic look obvious, however, my favourite one is Dumbledore's (Elder Wand).

This is the same owl that was taken from the previous posts. The philosophers stone is a smaller version than the original, where there is a round, transparent hole which allows your eyes to see into the stone. Inside the stone, is a picture of Hermione Granger + info about her.

This is a handmade inspired Harry Potter Wand and Ollivanders Box produced by myself. This wand was supposed to be sold to a person who suddenly made up that their mind that they didn't want to pay for it. So, I kept the wand to myself and was sitting in my school locker for about a year now...
